We are now on day three of creation. Isn't our God an awesome God, all we have to do is look around and we know that He had to be pretty, awesome and powerful not to mention creative to create the whole world. Today we found out that God made the land and the sea and the plants.
Genesis 1:9-13
9 And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.
10 And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good.
11 And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.
12 And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
13 And the evening and the morning were the third day.
Genesis 1:1 "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth."
Germinate Your Own Seed
Germinate you own seeds. This was a great way to observe what happens under the soil when we plant a seed. Moisten a paper towel and ring it out slightly. We placed the wet paper towel and 3 pea seeds or bean like for soup inside a small Ziploc bag. The kids taped them to a sunny window and wait & observe. (you should see something on day 2 and on day 7 SURPRISE).
A Nature Walk
If possible, go outside for a walk! Gather some rocks, leaves, and other nature items. Bring them inside and add them to your sand table.
Writing Activities
Use the land to print names! Print "God" on a large paper (fingerpaint paper works well). Have the children follow the letters with a glue bottle. Have the sprinkle sand on the paper and shake off! Pretty cool! God created the land!
